CalvertHealth Medical Center Expansion Updates

Here's what to expect in the coming weeks:

The noise level will decrease significantly now that the demolition phase of the expansion project is near completion. We are taking precautionary measures to ensure our patients have a restful, healing experience during this time. If patients or visitors have a concern, please contact Patient & Family Services at x4623 or Susan Stevens, director of patient & family services at x4523.

Over the course of the next few weeks, the construction crew will be focusing their attention on re-running existing utility wiring through the demo footprint as well as the footprint of the new tower.

Crews will be bringing heavy equipment in to begin boring the concrete pilings to support the new structure. A test pile will be poured and will set for approximately one week while the material is tested by engineers. After the test period, the crew will proceed with the installation of approximately 90 pilings. The machinery needed for the pilings will be approximately 140 feet tall; the height of the water tower.
