Important Information And Resources Regarding The Novel Coronavirus

The Maryland Department of Health has issued guidelines concerning the Novel Coronavirus. Due to the evolving nature of the virus, CalvertHealth has taken preventative measures and is working with Calvert County Health Department and local authorities. Currently, there is no apparent risk to the health of anyone in Calvert County.

For more information, visit the Maryland Department of Health website at https://phpa.health.maryland.gov/Pages/Novel-coronavirus.aspx or the Calvert Health Department, https://www.calverthealth.org/.

There is no vaccine currently available for coronavirus. Basic hygiene measures that we should all take during flu season (frequent hand washing with soap and water, staying home when you are sick, etc.) are your best means of staying healthy.

In general, people can protect themselves and others against respiratory viruses by taking the following precautions:

  • Wash your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap & water
  • Cover your mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • If you are sick, stay home from work or school
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
  • Practice good health habits
