For more than a century now, CalvertHealth has been determined to bring the highest quality of care to our community. It is a rich heritage of dedication and commitment to excellence that we continue to provide today.

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, employees and the community that we serve. As we continue to take proactive measures and prepare for the COVID-19 crisis, we are thankful for the support of our community members and local business partners and thank you in advance for your support of our community hospital.

- WAYS YOU CAN HELP -

Healthcare workers and first responders are manning the front lines to care for those with COVID-19. Show your support for all our heroes by proudly displaying a white ribbon in your home, business, or on your car or person. It’s a great way to let the individuals working to keep you healthy and safe know that you appreciate all they do. For your convenience, use the button below to download a white ribbon.

Make sure to take a photo of your white ribbon and tag CalvertHealth on Facebook @CalvertHealthMedicalCenter or on Instagram @CalvertHealth.

Donate Medical Materials

While CHMC currently has the supplies needed to care for its patients and protect its staff, the county and the medical center are looking to increase supplies and take proactive measures for the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have supplies to donate, please contact marketing@calverthealthmed.org so that arrangements can be made to collect the donation. Please note that all items must be unopened materials.

We are currently welcoming donations of:

  • Stethoscopes
  • Unopened containers of hand sanitizer
  • Unopened bleach wipes
  • Unopened boxes of surgical masks
  • Unopened boxes of N95 masks
  • Unopened boxes of exam gloves
  • Unopened boxes of isolation or procedure gown

We are also accepting donations of handmade gowns and masks to have on hand in the event our PPE reaches critical levels. CDC-compliant masks can be used for patients and healthcare workers who are not at high-risk of exposure. Once you have masks that are ready for us to use, please bring them to the loading dock, located in the rear of the medical center. There will be a bin you can place the masks in.

If you are donating medical materials or homemade materials, please complete the donation form. It would be helpful if you could submit the form when you drop off your donation so we can be sure to document your donation and follow-up with the appropriate donation letters. Thank you, again, for your support of CalvertHealth.

Instructions for making masks

Materials:

  • 100% unused cotton fabric (front) – no metallic fabrics
  • 100% cotton or cotton flannel (back)
  • 1/8", 1/4", or 3/8” flat elastic, or 1/4” inch bias-tape

For specific dimensions refer to the written instructions (PDF):

If you cannot find elastics, follow these instructions to make fabric ties:
If flat elastic is not available, fabric ties can be sewn on the mask, one tie on each of the four mask corners. Ties should be approximately 1/4” width, sewn so there are no frayed edges, and approximately 15” for each corner.

Give To The Community Emergency Impact Support Fund

The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on our community hospital has been significant and will have an impact well into the future. The requests of "how can we help" has also been significant. Our Calvert community is a true blessing to the CalvertHealth Foundation.

We have established the Community Emergency Impact Support Fund through the CalvertHealth Foundation to raise critical support for our community hospital. Gifts to this unrestricted fund will position our foundation to respond to funding needs that are arising - and will continue to arise. All gifts matter, all gifts are appreciated, and all gifts have an impact.

Give The Gift Of Blood

Those who are healthy and asymptomatic (no fever, cough, sore throat, etc.) can schedule an appointment to give blood through the American Red Cross at redcross.org. The Red Cross is anticipating critical blood shortages throughout this crisis and your gift could save up to three lives.
