CalvertHealth Foundation Celebrates Scholarship Recipients

CalvertHealth Foundation celebrated 24 students who received scholarships pursing higher education in an allied health field at a scholarship reception held in July.

Scholarship recipients for 2017 included 18 students from Calvert County, two from Anne Arundel, two from Charles and two from St. Mary’s. 21 are pursuing a degree in nursing and the others are studying occupational and physical therapy.

The  students honored were Carleigh Bartholomew of St. Leonard attending Stevenson University; Taylor Bowen of Prince Frederick attending York College of Pennsylvania; McKenzie Copsey of Clements attending the College of Southern Maryland; Marie Dahlberg of St. Leonard attending Walden University; Adair Dooley of Chesapeake Beach attending Walden University; Pamela Farrall of Port Republic attending Salisbury University; Erin Farley of Lusby attending Chamberlin College of Nursing; Michaela Friason of Hughesville attending Towson University; Kaitlyn Hilgenberg of Huntingtown attending the College of Southern Maryland; Jade Hudson of St. Leonard who is attending USC-Upstate; Dana King of Lusby who is attending Salisbury University; Elizabeth Lake of Dowell who is attending the College of Southern Maryland; Emily McGuigan of Lusby who is attending Keuka College; Samantha McGuigan of Lusby who is attending York College of Pennsylvania; Susan Midgett of Prince Frederick who is attending Walden University; Lillian Morrison of Leonardtown who is attending Anderson University; Lenora Painter of Huntingtown who is attending Walden University; Michelle Parrott of Prince Frederick who is attending Walden University; Sana Qureshi of Waldorf who is attending University of Maryland; Deborah Rosnage of Huntingtown who is attending Drexel University; Rhiannon Shenk of Annapolis who is attending University of Maryland; Vonda Stamp of Lusby who is attending Chamberlin College of Nursing; Victoria Wolf of St. Leonard who is attending University of Maryland and Cortney Yeatman of Deale who is attending the College of Southern Maryland.

CalvertHealth Foundation Board of Directors, its donors and family and friends of recipients were present to recognize the accomplishments of the scholarship recipients.

Since the program began in 1991, the CalvertHealth Foundation has awarded more than $485,000 to 367 local students.
