Prince Frederick, MD – The CalvertHealth Foundation invites the community to come together for a powerful morning of hope, strength and unity at the 17th Annual CalvertHealth Breast Cancer 5K, taking place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in scenic Solomons Island. The event will once again feature two distances: a traditional 5K run/walk and a fun, untimed 1.5-mile walk along the scenic island—perfect for those who want to take in the views while showing their support.
This meaningful event supports the Sheldon E. Goldberg Center for Breast Care at the CalvertHealth Cancer Center and its continued affiliation with Duke Health, a national leader in cancer care. This partnership gives local patients access to groundbreaking clinical trials and research—close to home. The first multidisciplinary breast center in Southern Maryland, the center for breast care provides patients with expert care and the most advanced breast health technology available.
Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to walk or run the scenic 5K course in honor or remembrance of loved ones affected by breast cancer. The morning will feature a community warm-up, an inspiring program and a celebratory awards ceremony, with medals presented to all participants.
“The Breast Cancer 5K is more than a race—it’s a powerful expression of support for patients and families in our community,” said Barry Friedman, chair of the 5K and Foundation Board Chair. “Every step taken and every dollar raised helps bring hope and healing closer to home.”
Thanks to a generous sponsor, Seven Lands and Seas Travel, every registration includes an entry to win a Viking Cruise valued up to $10,000!
